General Motors Groundbreaking New Electric Vehicle uses GE ecomagination* Technology to Help Drivers Skip the Pump
DETROIT — January 7, 2007— It’s been nearly 100 years, but Thomas Edison’s belief in electricity as a viable propulsion system for automobiles is one step closer to reality due to the efforts of General Motors and General Electric. Today, GE participated in General Motors’ unveiling of its newest concept vehicle, the Chevrolet Volt, at the North American International Auto Show, in Detroit. The Volt’s E-Flex flexible propulsion system offers a global blended range of transportation energy solutions to regional energy issues and driving behavior.

Borealis Film and Fibre VP Harald Hammer appointed as CEO of Borouge Pte Ltd
Borealis Film and Fibre Vice President Harald Hammer has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Borouge Pte Ltd as of January 1, 2007, replacing Hubert Puchner. Puchner, who after five years of leading Borouge through a period of strong growth, will take up the post of Executive Vice President of AgroLinz Melamine International (AMI) in Linz, Austria, managing the company’s global melamine business. He will remain a member of the Borouge Board.

Nieuwe Managing Director DNV Benelux, Groot-Brittannië en Ierland
Rotterdam, 3 januari 2007– Per 1 januari 2007 heeft DNV (Det Norske Veritas) Tom Backelin aangesteld als Managing Director voor DNV Benelux, Groot-Brittannië en Ierland. In deze functie is hij verantwoordelijk voor de bedrijfs- en commerciële activiteiten in deze landen. Tom, werkzaam bij DNV sinds 1974, is een zeer ervaren manager die eerder diverse hoge posities heeft vervuld binnen DNV en veel ervaring heeft in het geografische gebied dat zijn nieuwe functie zal omvatten. ‘Ik zal in mijn nieuwe functie het beleid wat Richard Stolk heeft gevoerd verder ontwikkelen en ons doel: het beschermen van het leven, bezit en het milieu verder ondersteunen‘, vertelt Tom Backelin. ‘Met de nieuwe organisatie en een nieuw kantoor in Nederland zijn de randvoorwaarden vervuld om onze sterke marktpositie op het gebied van certificering verder te ontwikkelen’.

OMV and IPIC plan to consolidate their chemistry activities into subsidiary Borealis
• OMV and IPIC intend to incorporate their respective 50% shares of AMI Agrolinz Melamine International into their joint subsidiary Borealis within the first half of 2007
• Changes in the AMI Supervisory Board as of January 1, 2007
• OMV continues to focus on core business
OMV, Central Europe's leading oil and gas group, continues to focus on its core business: Exploration & Production, Refineries & Marketing and Gas. In this context OMV, together with its core shareholder International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC), is planning on incorporating AMI Agrolinz Melamine International GmbH (AMI), one of the leading international producers of melamine and plant nutrients into Borealis. OMV and IPIC each hold 50% of AMI. The final decision will be made in the course of the first half of 2007.

CHEMTURA ANNOUNCES EUROPEAN PRICE INCREASE ON TIN STABILIZERS, MIXED METALS AND PLASTICIZERS
Chemtura Corporation (NYSE:CEM) announced a 7-9% increase of European selling prices on all tin stabilizers, a 5% increase on all mixed metals stabilizers and a 5 Eurocent increase on all plasticizers for all package sizes, effective immediately or as contract terms permit.
