BERGEN OP ZOOM, OLANDA - 28 ottobre 2005 - Nell'ambito della nuova iniziativa aziendale ecomagination*, GE - Plastics introduce la nuova lastra avanzata Lexan* Margard* MR5 IR. Si tratta di un nuovo tipo di materiale costituito da lastre in policarbonato (PC) con un esclusivo rivestimento protettivo (hardcoat) superficiale, particolarmente adatto al settore dei trasporti pubblici e caratterizzato da un assorbimento infrarosso (IR) nella gamma di lunghezze d'onda 780-1400 nm. Grazie alla gestione efficiente del calore della componente infrarossa delle radiazioni solari che colpiscono bus, treni e altri mezzi di trasporto pubblico e veicoli speciali, tale materiale di GE favorisce il risparmio energetico, la protezione dagli effetti dannosi dei raggi UV e la trasmissione della luce. In questo modo si riduce l'assorbimento di calore e i costi dei sistemi di condizionamento dell'aria nei giorni caldi e soleggiati, garantendo, nel contempo, l'isolamento necessario per trattenere il calore e abbassare i costi del carburante nei giorni freddi e nuvolosi.

Borealis and Novolen enter into license agreement and will jointly develop metallocene single-site polymerisation catalysts
Borealis and Novolen announced today that they have entered into a license agreement allowing Novolen’s metallocene single-site polypropylene (PP) technology rights to be available to Borealis. This agreement grants Borealis access to Novolen’s metallocene PP patent rights to manufacture single-site polymerisation catalysts to produce Borealis metallocene PP solutions. In addition, both parties have entered into joint development agreement to further develop metallocene single-site polymerisation catalysts for use in bulk PP polymerisation processes. Both companies are strongly committed to innovation and play a leading role in the plastics industry.
