NUOVI SENSORI WABASH IN STANYL®: COSTI INFERIORI E PRESTAZIONI SUPERIORI RISPETTO AI SENSORI IN METALLO
Wabash Technologies, importante azienda produttrice di una vasta gamma di componenti elettronici/elettromeccanici di primo impianto, ha sviluppato un nuovo sensore filettato per powertrain che controlla l’alimentazione del motore, l’accensione e la trasmissione. Il nuovo sensore, realizzato in Stanyl® di DSM Engineering Plastics, rimpiazza un analogo sensore d’acciaio rispetto al quale offre interessanti benefici sia tecnici che economici.

BERGEN OP ZOOM, Paesi Bassi — 10 febbraio 2004 — Nell’anno in cui ricorre il 51° anniversario del PC LEXAN®, scoperto nel 1953 da Daniel W. Fox nei laboratori GE, GE Advanced Materials amplia ulteriormente la propria offerta di prodotti basati su questo versatile polimero. La grande famiglia dei LEXAN® si è infatti arricchita di due nuovi gradi: LEXAN EXL 9112 e LEXAN EXL 1434, entrambi costituiti da una resina tenacizzata policarbonato/silossano. Questi prodotti offrono vari livelli di autoestinguenza e rispondono ai requisiti del marchio di qualità ecologica (“eco-label”); in più presentano elevata fluidità, ampia resistenza chimica e migliorata resistenza agli agenti atmosferici. Sono potenzialmente molto adatti per applicazioni nei settori dell’elettronica portatile, degli apparecchi combinati, delle telecomunicazioni e dei palmari. I nuovi materiali vanno ad aggiungersi a LEXAN EXL 9330 e LEXAN EXL 1414, già introdotti in precedenza sul mercato.

GREAT LAKES INCREASES ANTIMONY TRIOXIDE FLAME RETARDANT PRICES
INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA—Great Lakes Chemical Corporation (NYSE:GLK) today announced that effective for shipments after March 29, 2004, where contracts allow, the company will increase the price for all grades of antimony trioxide by $0.15/lb in the Americas and by $330/MT in Europe and the Asia Pacific region. The price for other antimony derivatives will also increase dependent upon antimony content. This price increase is in addition to the increase of $0.25/lb in the Americas and $550/MT in Europe and the Asia Pacific region that took effect January 23, 2004.
