La Robix sviluppa una nuova tecnica per l’estrusione di pezzi circolari in polimero Victrex® PEEK™
La società britannica Robix Ltd, specializzata nella trasformazione di tecnopolimeri, ha sviluppato una nuova tecnica utilizzabile per produrre con gli impianti e le attrezzature esistenti pezzi circolari estrusi in polimero Victrex® PEEK™ di diametro compreso fra 600 mm e 1200 mm e spessore di parete fino a 25 mm x 19 mm.

Con il Composite Flow Moulding dispositivi di fissaggio in polimero Victrex® PEEK™ con resistenza specifica ultraelevata
Il Composite Flow Moulding (CFM) è un processo innovativo che consente di produrre, in modo totalmente automatizzato, componenti ad altissima resistenza rinforzati con fibre continue. La tecnologia, sviluppata dalla società svizzera Icotec AG di Altstätten, si basa sull'utilizzo di fibre di carbonio continue incorporate in una matrice termoplastica di polimero Victrex® PEEK™. Il processo permette di ottenere una resistenza specifica ultraelevata, fino a 600 MPa/g/cm3 – ben superiore a quella dell'alluminio (≈50 MPa/g/cm3) e del titanio (≈300 MPa/g/cm3) e viene già utilizzata con ottimi risultati in applicazioni quali dispositivi di fissaggio filettati di qualità elevata e uniforme, prodotti in volumi elevati in un'unica fase e senza bisogno di operazioni secondarie

Eastman, Geocell Sign Exclusive Copolyester Supply Agreement
Eastman Chemical Company has signed an agreement with Geocell Systems, Inc., to be the exclusive supplier of copolyester materials used in Geocell’s Rapid Deployment Flood Wall (RDFW) grid. RDFW is a new and revolutionary fortification technology that can replace the outdated task of filling and stacking sandbags. Honeywell and Samsung Electronics announce AZ-20® refrigerant supply agreement
Honeywell Fluorine Products, Europe announced that it has finalised a four-year agreement to support Samsung in the continued conversion of its air-conditioning equipment to AZ-20®, Honeywell’s patented replacement for ozone-depleting R-22 in new air conditioners. In addition to supplying refrigerant for charging and servicing equipment, Honeywell will provide support in system research and development, manufacturing plant conversion, and service-technician training.
