TRW chose VICTREX® PEEK™ polymer to provide high performance and design freedom for a new electrically controlled parking brake
TRW, a global technology, manufacturing and service company, has selected PEEK™ polymer as a cost-effective, innovative design solution for an electrically controlled parking brake. An actuator unit, which consists of an electric motor, and a gearing unit activate the brake. The use of VICTREX® PEEK™ polymer allowed TRW to economically develop a high-efficiency gearing concept with a transmission ratio of 150:1 within a limited space. Furthermore, the polymer provided lighter, quieter running parts than could be achieved with metal.

Baumer puts its trust in VICTREX® PEEK™ polymer in its Auto-ID systems

Glass fibre-reinforced VICTREX® PEEKTM polymer provides the necessary combination of mechanical properties for the casing of Auto-ID systems made by Baumer Electric AG.
The identification systems of Baumer Ident, a 100% wholly owned subsidiary of Baumer Electric AG, are suitable for use in many different branches of industry and have also been developed for the severest of environmental conditions. Glass fibre-reinforced VICTREX® PEEK™ polymer has been selected for the casing on a range of these data carriers as it provides the necessary combination of mechanical properties at high temperatures, microwave transparency, resistance to chemicals and consistent ease of processing.

VICTREX® PEEK™ polymer was chosen by Radiall SA in Château Renault, France, for the new IMP series of subminiature coaxial plugs, as PEEK™ polymer has proved particularly suitable for use in contact with soldering baths.
Radiall SA of Château Renault, France, has selected PEEK™ polymer from Victrex for its new IMP series of subminiature coaxial plugs. These plugs are designed for use in surface mount technology, (SMT), between two printed circuit boards. With a height of only 3 mm, these miniscule plugs allow optimum space efficiency and, with a usable frequency band of up to 6 GHz, they can be used for a wide range of applications, including mobile phones and portable computers.

STAMAX® P COMPOSITE APPLICATIONS ON DISPLAY AT K 2001

On display at the K: the BMW New Mini front-end carrier (Photo: StaMax) DÜSSELDORF, Germany, (25th October 2001) – A door module featuring StaMax® P, a new thermoplastic composite developed jointly by OC™ Automotive Solutions and DSM Automotive Polymers, will be unveiled at the K 2001 Exhibition in Düsseldorf. Other StaMax P applications will also be shown during show, which takes place from Oct. 25th through Nov. 1st.

Rapid TRACS provides 'clean room' air quality for granulators

TRACS is a modular, compact and
closed system which is the ideal
complement to Rapid's
medium to large granulators.
Rapid Granulator AB, the world leader in plastics granulating equipment for plastics recycling, will be exhibiting its Rapid TRACS air cleaning system at K 2001. TRACS, which stands for Transport Recovery and Air Cleaning System, has proven itself highly successful at eliminating airborne particles as small as cigarette smoke in extensive commercial trials.

Rapid's 10 Series is silent and runs like clockwork

The 10 Series' circular, toughened cutting wheels slice cleanly and smoothly through even abrasive and filled materials. The low-volume grinding of hard, thick-walled and/or brittle injection-moulding sprues and rejects requires a special type of granulator. The three models in the Rapid 10 Series, on exhibit at K 2001, are perfectly equipped to meet this need. Unlike other grinders, the 10 Series design is based on rotating cutters and fixed blades which determine the uniform 4 mm regrind size, thus eliminating the need for a perforated screen.

Rapid Granulator AB delivers a customised recycling solution for a world leader in CDs/DVDs manufacturing

The 1514 CD/DVD highlights RAPID's approach to granulating and recycling which combines extensive modularity with the development of customised solutions in close collaboration with the client. MPO, the leading independent worldwide manufacturer of digital media (CDs/DVDs), based at Averton, France, has selected a recycling solution from RAPID for the closed loop recycling of sprue scrap.
