SABIC erweitert sein TRUCIRCLE™ Portfolio an Kreislauflösungen um recyclingpolymere für Automobilanwendungen
SITTARD, NIEDERLANDE, 1. September 2021 - SABIC, ein weltweit führendes Unternehmen der chemischen Industrie, hat heute im Rahmen seines TRUCIRCLE™ Portfolios an Kreislauflösungen und -services die ersten Polymertypen mit mechanisch recyceltem Anteil für Automobilanwendungen eingeführt. Die neuen Materialien sind SABIC® T2E-3320EH PP Compound, ein leichtfließendes emissionsarmes und talkumverstärktes Polypropylen (PP); XENOY™ T2NX2500UV, ein unverstärkter, UV-stabilisierter Blend aus Polycarbonat (PC) und Polyethylenterephthalat (PET); und XENOY T2NX5230, ein mineralverstärkter PC/PET-Blend. Alle drei Produkte enthalten einen Recyclinganteil von bis zu 29% und bieten eine ausgezeichnete Leistungsfähigkeit, vergleichbar mit der marktüblichen Neuware. Das erschließt Kunden in der Automobilindustrie neue Möglichkeiten, um ehrgeizige Nachhaltigkeitsziele umzusetzen.

BENEO transforms settling pond into wildlife haven
BENEO, a world leader in functional ingredients, has embarked on a long-term programme to promote biodiversity in the vicinity of its Oreye production plant. In collaboration with not-for-profit environmental organisations Natagora and Natagriwal, BENEO is transforming a former settling pond and the surrounding area into a sanctuary for wildlife, including rare birds, beavers, bats, deer and frogs. The project will contribute to the protection of indigenous and endangered species in Wallonia, at this same time enriching the local community.

A case study at the University Hospital Basel confirms the high effectiveness of an antimicrobial coating on adhesive films
In a clinical study that lasted several months, the effectiveness of antimicrobial treated surfaces against hospital pathogens was examined under real-life conditions at the University Hospital Basel in Switzerland. The research team, headed by Prof. Dr. Andreas Widmer and Dr. R. Frei, confirmed that the Sanitized® treated adhesive film developed jointly with Hexis S.A.S. has 98 % effectiveness against microbes. The results were first published in the peer-reviewed scientific journal “Antimicrobial Resistance & Infection Control”. The study was supported by Innosuisse, the Swiss Innovation Agency.
