Pet Container Recycling Europe:new Director General for PETCORE
PET Container Recycling Europe (PETCORE) has announced the appointment of Frank Koelewijn to the post of Director General. He succeeds Henk Hansler, who will continue to act as advisor to Mr. Koelewijn until 1 October 2001.

eProcurement takes the centre stage at K 2001 in Düsseldorf this October with Omnexus, the global neutral eMarketplace for the plastics industry, showcasing its total resin procurement process, involving multiple products and multiple suppliers, through a single point of connectivity. It will also demonstrate technology that allows processors to perform search and equivalency comparison on a range of up to 4,500 resins, as well as comparisons of plastics processing machinery across a wide range of parameters such as clamping force, tie-bar spacing, shot size, etc.

On 1 August Omnexus™ (http://www.omnexus.com), the global, neutral eMarketplace for the plastics industry, goes live with full transaction capability for European plastics processors. Beginning in August, Omnexus members will be able to consolidate their total resin procurement process, involving multiple products and multiple suppliers, through a single point of connectivity. They will also have access to technology that allows them to perform search and equivalency comparison of plastics processing machinery across a wide range of parameters such as clamping force, tie-bar spacing, shot size, etc. and the ability to issue a “request for quotation” to multiple equipment suppliers. 13 plastic parts for the new one-touch gearshift
Lohne, April 2001 – For the one-touch gearshift in the new C-Class models from DaimlerChrysler, the Pöppelmann Kunststoff-Technik GmbH & Co. KG, Lohne, is supplying all 13 plastic parts. With this comfort automatic transmission system, the driver can select the gear he wants for a particular driving situation simply by lightly touching the shift lever. The compact shift block weighs only 0.5 kg, and the automatic transmission is currently regarded as the smallest of its kind. At the Hanover Industrial Trade Fair (23rd to 28th April 2001), Pöppelmann will be presenting the transmission as a transparent model on its stand C 34 in Hall 4.
