QUADRANT CMS LAUNCHES PATENTED THIN FILM FLUOROPOLYMER TECHNOLOGY (TFFT) IN EUROPE

One of the first commercial applications of Quadrant CMS’s thin strip fluoropolymer technology was used in the production of a TFFT wear strip for a tumble dryer.TIELT, BELGIUM – July 2007 – Quadrant Creative Moulding & Systems (Quadrant CMS) has developed and patented a new technology to bond a thin strip of PTFE with a thermoplastic carrier in a single step overmoulding process. The resulting product has a top surface which exhibits the excellent low-friction and chemical resistance properties of the fluoropolymer, yet is as mechanically strong as the thermoplastic carrier beneath it. Moreover, it provides the typical “design for assembly” freedom of an injection-molded part.

NEW HIGH FLOW AND HIGH PRODUCTIVITY MATERIALS FROM DSM

Akulon UltraflowDSM Engineering Plastics has introduced a range of High Flow & High Productivity materials, which enable significant system cost reductions, when compared to standard resins. Added value for the customer is generated by these materials via shorter production cycles leading to lower processing costs per part, greater design freedom leading to lower material and/or processing costs per part and more room for innovation, such as metal replacement. To demonstrate the potential for cost reduction and annual savings, DSM Engineering Plastics is able to provide customers with Product Cost Analysis spreadsheet tools.

QUADRANT CMS TO DOUBLE HUNGARIAN PRODUCTION BY END OF 2007

Quadrant CMS has announced plans to significantly increase the production capacity of its injection-moulding facility in Szigetszentmiklos, Hungary, by the end of 2007. TIELT, BELGIUM – July 2007 – Quadrant Creative Moulding & Systems (Quadrant CMS) is about to double the turnover at the Hungarian facility compared to 2006 and has announced plans to further increase the production capacity significantly of its purpose-built injection-moulding facility in Szigetszentmiklos, south of Budapest, by the end of 2007. Production at the plant has increased significantly in recent months, principally as a result of Quadrant CMS’ success in the region. Amongst Quadrant CMS’s expansion plans are the addition of Krauss-Maffei and Engel injection moulding machines, ranging from 25 to 400 tons, and the employment of more workers at the site in line with the additional activity.
