Clariant’s bio-based additives for biopolymers awarded OK compost INDUSTRIAL & OK biodegradable SOIL certification

Clariant’s bio-based processing & dispersing additives for biopolymers used in plastics– Licocare® RBW Vita range, Licolub® FA 1 and Licowax® C – have been awarded the “OK compost INDUSTRIAL” certificate. Awarding test and certification body, TÜV Austria Cert GmbH, also granted toLicocare RBW 102 Vita the “OK biodegradable SOIL” label, which is a key attribute for agricultural applications.

Welcome black! Clariant launches NIR-detectable black colorants for a wide range of recyclable polymers at K 2019
Clariant gives the recycling potential of black plastics a much-needed boost. At K 2019, it will launch the first range of near infrared (NIR)-detectable black pigments and dyes applicable to a wide variety of recyclable plastics. The advanced emission control solution combines a new technology from Wuxi Xiyuan with Clariant’s high-performance EnviCat VOC catalysts, and is specially designed for producers using silver-based processes.

SABIC introduces LNP™ ELCRIN™ iQ upcycled compounds to extend useful life of PET bottles and help reduce plastic waste
SABIC today introduced its LNP™ ELCRIN™ iQ portfolio of polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) compounded resins derived from recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET) to support the circular economy and help reduce plastic waste. By chemically upcycling consumer-discarded PET (primarily single-use water bottles) into higher-value PBT materials with enhanced properties and suitability for more-durable applications, the company is encouraging the use of recycled resins. These products also offer a smaller cradle-to-gate environmental footprint than virgin PBT resin, as measured by Cumulative Energy Demand (CED) and Global Warming Potential (GWP).
