Clariant demonstrates Performance through Partnership at CPhI 2011

Muttenz, October 25, 2011 - Customized processing solutions and a collaborative way of working designed to support better performance for the pharmaceutical industry and their products will underline Clariant’s “Performance through Partnership” focus at CPhI 2011.

At Booth 31F45, the specialty chemicals expert will present its trusted portfolio of fine chemical building blocks and enhancers, including Glymes, and process solvents for organic synthesis, all aimed at easing the processing of sensitive applications. In addition Clariant showcases the entire range of Polyglykols used as APIs or excipients in various pharmaceutical formulations.

High quality and high purity are among the many characteristics which, in combination with Clariant’s partnership approach, aid the performance-boosting potential of its tailored solutions for both customers and their products. With efficiency becoming an increasingly important consideration for the sector, visitors to CPhI 2011 can look forward to ingredients focused on addressing this priority and delivering the processing performance required.

Highlights at CPhI 2011 will include:

Soluble and dissolving – all in one: Clariant is the world’s only company to offer a complete range of different molecular weight, high purity Polyglykols (PEGs), supported by CEP certification and DMF file type IV. The Polyglykol product range is predominantly used as an API in laxatives or as an excipient for tablets, suppository masses, organ preservation, protein purification and drug delivery systems.

Enhancing yields and reaction rates: Clariant presents the benefits of its Glymes and Butyl Glymes products that offer very high solvency for organics and inorganics, high thermal and chemical stability, and easier and safer handling. In addition, they have excellent recycling potential. The products are suitable for metal catalyzed reactions and as phase transfer catalysts.

Great variety of versatile molecules: As a major supplier with over 40 years of experience in the production of glyoxal, glyoxaylic acid and derivatives, Clariant produces a large variety of versatile molecules for use as building blocks in downstream chemistry. Clariant will highlight its committed approach to the development of renewable sources and its portfolio of derivatives for pharma, agro fine chemicals and other specialty applications.

Efficient solvents in organic synthesis: Clariant’s advanced solvents for use in pharmaceutical applications lead the way in offering favorable toxicological properties and easy-handling. The improved efficiency and yield-boosting potential of Highsolv® P99 and Highsolv E99 for organic synthesis makes them a viable replacement for commonly used toxic and flammable solvents such as THF, dichloromethane, toluene, and NMP.
