Polyscope Polymers BV is a Netherlands-based producer of styrene maleic anhydride copolymers, founded in 2006 by a group of international private investors backed by Limburg Development and Investment Company LIOF and Limburg Ventures. Polyscope offers a range of products with molecular weights from 10,000 up to 180,000 g/mol and a maleic anhydride content between 22% and 42%, for engineering plastics applications and also for water-based applications in paper, ink, pigment, leather treatment and other industries.

Polyscope Polymers expands scope of Xiran® SMA as additive for amorphous thermoplastics
Styrene maleic anhydride, long established as a high performance thermoplastic in its own right, is now finding increasing use as a functional additive and compatibilizer in other amorphous and to some extent crystalline thermoplastics. One of the most recent effects is the decision by Nova Chemicals to discontinue production of its Dylark® styrene maleic anhydride (SMA) engineering resins, important materials for dashboard carriers and other car components.

Vorhang auf für die XIRAN® SMA-Copolymere
Polyscope Polymers bietet Herstellern von Industrie- und Automobilteilen neues leistungsfähigeres Produkt für nachweisliche Gewichtseinsparungen und kürzere Zykluszeiten.
Polyscope Polymers, Europas jüngster und zugleich interessantester Hersteller und Zulieferer von SMA-Copolymeren (Styrol-Maleinsäureanhydrid), hat seine neue Produktreihe XIRAN® SMA eingeführt. Für die Anwender bestehender SMA-Produkte stellt sich diese in Europa hergestellte Produktreihe als wesentlich bessere Alternative dar. Darüber hinaus dürften die Eigenschaften und die hohe Leistungsfähigkeit der Produkte auch für jene Teilehersteller neue Möglichkeiten eröffnen, die gegenwärtig andere Kunststoffe wie beispielsweise Polyamid, PPLGF, PPEPDM oder ABS-Blends einsetzen. In unlängst durchgeführten Tests für eine konkrete Automobilanwendung konnte XIRAN® gegenüber glasfaserverstärktem Polyamid mit einem deutlichen Gewichtsvorteil sowie einer deutlichen Reduzierung der Zykluszeit überzeugen.
